Summer Reading Program Wallet Card Rules

Children and teen summer readers may earn free admission to the following Rhode Island attractions by participating in the summer reading program at their local public library. Requirements for earning the wallet card, which is only available at your public library and serves as an admission ticket, may vary. Inquire in the children's or teen services department at your local public library.

The following are rules only and will not be accepted as coupons for free admission.

Audubon Society

Audubon Society of Rhode Island's Environmental Education Center

The Environmental Education Center is open daily 9:00 to 5:00. Admission for adults is $6.00 and $4.00 for children 4-12.  Children under 4 are admitted free.

2) Use wallet card once during July, August or September (2014). Wallet Card cannot be used for special events.
3) One paying adult can bring up to two children with Summer Reading Program wallet cards

Casey Farm

Historic New England's Casey Farm

Casey Farm is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 – 5:00 and Saturdays from 9:00 to 2:00.  Admission is $4.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors, and $2.00 for students.  A visit consists of a guided tour, including visiting the farm animals.

Watson Farm

Historic New England’s Watson Farm

Watson Farm is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 1:00 to 5:00.  Admission is $4.00 adults, $3.00 seniors, and $2.00 students.  A visit consists of a self-guided tour, including farm animals and trails down to the Bay.

John Brown House

The John Brown House Museum

The John Brown House Museum is open Saturdays from 10 am – 4 pm (guided tours at 10:30, 12 noon, 1:30 & 3 pm), and Tuesdays – Fridays from 1:00 pm – 4 pm (guided tours at 1:30 & 3 pm). Admission: Tickets: Adults: $10, Seniors and Students: $8, Children 7-17: $6

Museum of Natural History

Museum of Natural History and Planetarium

Telephone: (401) 785-9457. The Museum is open every day from 10:00 am until 4:00pm, with last admission at 3:30pm. . Museum admission is $2 (Free for children under 4 years old.) Some special programs have a separate admission.

Planetarium Admission is $3 (No one under age 4 is permitted in the planetarium.) This includes entrance to the Museum and exhibits. Public planetarium shows are offered every weekend during RI February and April school vacation weeks, and daily during July and August with shows beginning promptly at 2:00. The Museum does not accept Credit/Debit Cards. Cash or Check only.

Museum of Work & Culture

The Museum of Work and Culture is open Tuesday – Friday, 9:30 to 4:00; Saturday, 10:00 to 4:00; and Sunday, 1:00 to 4:00.  Children under 10 are admitted free.  Admission for adults is $8.00; $6.00 for seniors and students. Free admission for active duty military, RIHS members, and children under 10 (with an adult).

Newport Art Museum

The Newport Art Museum is open Tuesday – Saturday 10am - 4pm, Sun 12 – 4pm.  Admission:  Adults $10.00; Seniors  (65+) $8.00; Students $6.00 (with valid ID); Military personnel $6.00 (with valid ID); children 5 and under are free.

This wallet card is valid for general admission only and does not apply to events or special programs. Agency groups must call in advance for an appointment.

The Children's Museum is open daily, 9:00 – 6:00, and Fridays until 8:00 (during July and August). Admission for adults and other children is $9.00 (under 12 months free).

RISD Museum

RISD Museum

20 North Main Street, Providence. Please enter the museum through the Chace Center entrance (on North Main Street).

The RISD Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and open every Thursday until 9:00 pm. Admission prices: Adults ages 19-61: $12; Seniors 62+ $10; Youth ages 5-18: $3; Under 5 free. Free every Sunday and the 3rd Thursday night of each month, 5pm-9pm

Save the Bay

Save the Bay Exploration Center & Aquarium

Save the Bay Exploration Center & Aquarium The Rotunda, Easton's (First) Beach, 175 Memorial Blvd., Newport (324-6020) Save The Bay’s Exploration Center and Aquarium will be open for the summer season May 23- September 1 from 10-4. After that we are open Fridays-Sundays from 10-4, Holiday Mondays, and school vacation weeks in February and April. Please see our website for further details: www.savebay.org. Admission is $6.00 for anyone 3 an d over.

South County Museum

In July/August, the Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 to 4:00, plus Thursday evenings until 7:00 pm. In May/June/September, the Museum is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 – 4:00.  Admission for adults is $10, $9 for seniors and AAA members and $5 for children 6-12 years old. Free admission for children under 6, museum members, and active duty military.
