September 2016

The commitee convenes and begins the process of selecting 20 nominees for the 2018 award.

Cece Bell, author of the 2016 winner El Deafo, is honored at an award ceremony at Willam L. Callahan Elementary School in Harrisville.

February 2017

Voting begins for the 2017 winner. All voting will be done online using Survey Monkey and will be open Monday, January 30 - Monday, March 6. The link to access the online voting survey will be available at this time and can be found on this web page.

March 2017

The 2017 award winner is announced on March 8, and the list of 2018 nominees is released on March 13.

Spring 2016

SLRI, RILA, and RICFB each select a new committee member to serve a three year term.

Fall 2017

The commitee convenes and begins the process of selecting 20 nominees for the 2019 award.
