9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Jamestown Public Library
Presenter(s)/Discussion Leader(s): Tim Spindler, Access Service Librarian, Roger Williams University; Patricia LaRose, Head of Adult Services, Newport Public Library; Chaichin Chen, Library Program Specialist, OLIS.
This is an introductory session for libraries who wish to learn more about what Relais ILL can do beyond the basic web-based ILL application.
Relais ILL offers a web-based interface to facilitate resource sharing activities among LORI libraries. The 6 repeated training programs scheduled in December 2009 and January 2010 will cover the step-by-step guide on using the new system.
An alternative to the web application is to access Relais ILL through its window-based client which is equipped with useful and customizable features that most current Relais customers use. As with most customizable clients, however, setting up window-based Relais ILL requires IT involvement.
The objective of this workshop is to help participants to determine what works best for their libraries. Arrangement for the window-based client training will be made upon request.
Registration required.
Intended Audience: LORI library staff.
