Teen Media Production Pilot Project
OLIS is seeking up to 3 libraries to help pilot a teen media production program in 2012. The program is based on classes in digital media, with a focus on television production. Applications are due October 28.

OLIS has added a workshop on EmployRI, the Department of Labor and Training's online tool for job seekers. Don't miss this opportunity for hands-on training on this valuable resource. Limited spaces are available for this November 14 workshop.

Bullying Resources
On September 27th, Rhode Island's YA librarians attended a presentation on bullying and using real life storytelling as a technique to get teens to discuss bullying. The booklists and other resources distributed at the meeting are now available.

AskRI News and Updates
EBSCO is now available through geographic authentication, which simplifies access for remote users and schools. Numerous training opportunities are available this fall, including an overview of AskRI on Sept 28. All statistics are posted on the OLIS website.

E-rate News: FCC Released CIPA Order
The newly release CIPA Order makes minor revisions and adds the statutory languages from the Protecting Children in the 21st Century Act to the existing Commission rules implementing CIPA for the E-rate program.
