[May 18, 2009] The Office of Library and Information Services (OLIS) has selected the Relais Enterprise ILL hosted service to replace the interlibrary loan forms currently hosted by OLIS. Relais will allow LORI libraries to borrow directly from other LORI member libraries and to monitor their requests. The system also includes the fully integrated Relais Scanning Module for seamless electronic delivery of items to patrons and to other libraries.
OLIS is in the process of identifying pilot libraries to kick off the implementation this summer. Among the pilot libraries we plan to have libraries from each of our three major RI consortia and some special libraries. These libraries will test the system with daily ILL requests and make recommendation for modifications. The state-wide implementation of this new resource sharing system is expected to take place before the beginning of the 2010 school year. We are excited about this new venture and wish to thank all, especially the three library consortia directors and staff and the ILL Working Group members, who are helping to make this happen.
