OSL Communications Down Nov. 15 (morning)

[November 14, 2007] On Thursday morning (Nov. 15) starting at 6:00 am Ocean State Libraries (OSL) will be disconnecting the telecom equipment and moving it and the servers to their new home in the OSL Offices. While the equipment is being moved, all public libraries will not have any type of internet access or access to any servers, including Millennium. In other words, public libraries will not have access to any communications (internet, phones, online catalog, websites hosted on the OSL servers) until all the equipment is moved to the new location and set up. While the equipment is in transit, the telephone company will start doing the cutover at around 6 am. If all goes according to plan, everything should be up and running by noon, give or take 1 hour at most.

Once the move is complete, there will be a new telephone renewal system call number for patrons. This new number will be 401-736-0965. The old number will not work after 6 am on Thursday.
