LORI ILL Email Updates, 6/13/2007

Important notes about lorinet.info email:

  1. Effective June 13, 2007, "lorinet.info" is the new domain name for LORI ILL email.
  2. Always login with full email address, such as "dslill@lorinet.info" for DSL.
  3. Replace “xxx” with your library’s 3-letter code for all occurrences of xxxill@lorinet.info throughout this instruction.
  4. Refer to the “Direct Access” section under LORI ILL Email Updates, 6/6/2007 if you are not sure whether to go with web mail or POP mail.

Forwarded mail

Library opts to have the xxxill email forwarded does not have to make any change for this email migration.

Direct Access, web mail

The newly acquired ISP provides two web mail interfaces for its users. To cut down on the number of clicks staff have to go through each time, a shortcut to the simpler interface is provided at http://mail.lorinet.info. However, if you logout and immediately login again from the page provided, you will be prompted to choose among the two web mail interfaces. You can choose “SquirrelMail” for the same setup or “horde” for a more extensive web interface.

Direct Access, POP mail

Setup the account with the POP mail software that you are familiar with:

  • 'E-mail Address' -- xxxill@lorinet.info
  • 'Incoming Mail Server' (POP3) -- mail.lorinet.info
  • Outgoing Mail Server' (SMTP) -- mail.lorinet.info
  • 'User Name' -- xxxill@lorinet.info
  • 'Password' -- call OLIS for password
