Highlights: HomeworkHelpRI site is live; EBSCO databases available; Database trainings; Previous AskRI News
EBSCO has been added to the statewide databases as of October 1. Access to EBSCO statewide databases through AskRI is available via zip code authentication. Access to EBSCO databases from library websites will require patrons to enter their library bar code so they can see both the databases their library subscribes to (via OSL, HELIN, etc.) and statewide databases. OSL, HELIN, hospital libraries, etc. subscribe to different collections of EBSCO resources available only through their institution, not statewide. If you are not seeing all the databases to which you subscribe along with the AskRI databases, please contact your EBSCO representative.
HomeworkhelpRI.org website is live as of Sept 25.
World Book links have changed. Please update your library's link to
http://www.worldbookonline.com/wb/home?ed=lib&acct=00M7105&tu=/wb/products?ed=all
If you have the correct link, you should see the new interface, as visible
via AskRI. There
is no need to have two links on your web page anymore as in-library access
and remote access
go to the same place.
Four new sessions have been added to the OLIS CE Course Schedule: two trainings on EBSCO databases on October 8 and two trainings on World Book resources on October 29.
The Librarians' Resource Center will contain a link to logos and linking information. This information will be posted on October 5.
Publicity materials and links to vendor websites (with additional PR and marketing information) will also be added to the Librarians' Resource Center on AskRI the week of October 5.
Thank you for your patience as we continue to work out the final details for these resources. AskRI will continue to evolve and change to provide users with barrier-free access to statewide resources. We ask you to continue to check this website and the Librarians' Resource Center on AskRI for current information.
If you have questions or comments about the electronic resources available at AskRI.org, please contact Karen Mellor at OLIS or Kathyellen Bullard at the Providence Public Library.
