The much awaited Super Homepage and upgrade of World Book Online Reference Center to World Book Student will launch on Friday, Sept. 26. WBOL Reference Center has undergone a comprehensive upgrade and is now World Book Student, with a new look and feel. For more information, please download the World Book newsletter [pdf], which also highlights special topics in World Book Online for October.
Access to World Book is by geographic authentication, which means users anywhere in RI should have seamless access. Outside of RI, you should be prompted for your library card (OSL or HELIN will work). Please contact Karen Mellor if you cannot access the resource as described.
Geographic authentication for Tutor will be delayed until early November. Until that time, users should have seamless access from schools and libraries and access by library card from other locations. Please contact Karen Mellor if you cannot access the resource as described.
We are still experiencing problems with the homeworkhelpRI.org domain. We ask users to continue to access Tutor.com through AskRI.org. We hope to have the homeworkhelpRI.org site up and running soon.
Access to EBSCO databases should be available the week of September 29. Access information will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
The Librarians' Resource Center will contain a link to logos and linking information. This information will be posted the week of September 29.
Publicity materials and links to vendor websites (with additional PR and marketing information) will also be added to the Librarians' Resource Center on AskRI the week of September 29.
Thank you for your patience as we continue to work out the final details for these resources. AskRI will continue to evolve and change to provide users with barrier-free access to statewide resources. We ask you to continue to check this website and the Librarians' Resource Center on AskRI for current information.
If you have questions or comments about the electronic resources available at AskRI.org, please contact Karen Mellor at OLIS or Kathyellen Bullard at the Providence Public Library.
