Governor's Proposed State Aid to Libraries, Fiscal Year 2017

The Governor's proposed state budget for Fiscal Year 2017 (Executive Summary, Appendix C, page C-10) provided level funding state aid to libraries. Level funding would have resulted in 21.2% apportioned to each municipality rather than the law’s recommended 25% of eligible funds expended in FY2015 as described in RIGL 29-6-2(a); maintenance of effort is 100% as set forth in RIGL 29-6-3. In June, the General Assembly passed the FY2017 budget with an additional $900,000 for state aid to libraries. View the enacted 2017 state aid to libraries.
