State Grant-in-Aid

The State of Rhode Island provides financial support to libraries in accordance with Rhode Island General Law 29-6. State library aid ("grant-in-aid") is administered by the Office of Library and Information Services in the categories below.

Institutional Library Grant-in-Aid

  • Provided for state supported institutions per RIGL 29-6-7
  • Current institutional library payments

Awards and Eligibility

Formulas and eligibility requirements for grant-in-aid are established in state statutes and regulations set by the Library Board of Rhode Island and promulgated by the Office of Library and Information Services (OLIS). OLIS administers the grant-in-aid programs, certifying eligibility and determining award amounts.
