Important E-Rate Numbers

RI Library discounts for Funding year 2008 included four communities with increased discounts and two with decreasing discounts. Discount for Foster, Middletown, and New Shoreham move from 40% to 50%; Newport from 60% to 80%. Discount for both Providence and Central Falls drop from 90% to 80%.

New Shoreham is defined by USAC as a public library serving rural population. The fomula used to calculate E-Rate discount for NSH is different than the rest of the RI libraries.

Cite this source and/or copy the lunch data for your city/town if requested by the SLD. Funding Year 2008 discounts are based on Free and Reduced Lunch Eligibility Statistics for October 2006, provided by the RI Dept of Elementary and Secondary Education.
