The new library will be located on the Clear River, just below the mill pond falls in Harrisville (see below). A river walk patio with convenient pedestrian access will provide areas for patrons to read or stroll by the river.
The old mill will be demolished and replaced with Burrillville's new 24,900 square foot library. The entrance will be approximately in the center of this picture. Some of the mill buildings will be retained and will house a new senior center and affordable housing. The library is part of the Stillwater Redevelopment Zone.
|Stone arch bridge
A scenic view of the bridge that carries East Avenue over the Clear River will be visible from the riverwalk patio and the library.
|Mill Pond Falls
The Mill Pond waterfall is on the other side of East Avenue. The falls will be visible from the upper floors of the library. The current Jesse M. Smith Memorial Library is located just behind the red brick building in the upper left.
